HENLEY DINNER 2007

40 members and guests enjoyed an excellent dinner on Saturday 1st September at the attractive venue of the Leander Club at Henley. We were delighted that Dr. and Mrs. Steven Connors together with Mr. and Mrs. Mike Orton were able to attend, relaxing in the company of Old Monmothians spanning many generations.
Our thanks as always go to Michael Mounsdon for his planning and organisation of this Dinner, which has become a very popular annual event on the OM Calendar.

OM DAY 2007

OM Day was held on Saturday 12th May at Monmouth School. This years event followed the popular format developed over the past few years with a Chapel service followed by coffee in the Library and tours of the School in the morning. Lunch in the Blake theatre during which we enjoyed a short concert given by three talented young musicians, followed a drinks reception in the Blake foyer.
The President toasted the School after detailing the activities of the Club and the Headmaster responded and gave a presentation which included the future development plans of the School which would include a new Sports Pavilion and relocating the Grange to the Sports Centre site. He advised that it was hoped to have an Old Monmothian Room in the Pavilion which could be used for our meetings and other social events.
The event had targeted a re-union of OM's who had been at School in the 1960's with special invitations of members of the Rugby players from the mid 1960's including the unbeaten 1965 side. It was unfortunate that Keith Jarrett was unable to attend due to an operation following an accident but we were pleased that his wife Beryl was able to come.
We are once again grateful to the Headmaster for inviting us, the musicians for entertaining us and to the Catering Staff for looking after us so well.
