There was a
good turnout again this year with 48 members and
their guests sitting down to an excellent meal at
the Cardiff and County Club.
Sir Frank
Davies proposed the toast to
the
School and Jamie Atherton responded with the
polished and eloquent speech we have come to expect
from the Head of School on these occasions. The
Headmaster also brought us up to date with the
exciting new developments taking place in the
School.
Our special
guest John McEwan was thanked by the President for
his many and varied contributions to the School over
the years and was given a standing accolade by the
members.
One
remarkable feature was the attendance of three
generations of the Spencer family namely Donald, his
sons Keith and Christopher and his grandsons Gareth,
Douglas and Andrew.
In
recognition of Richard Parks’ efforts for The Marie
Curie Cancer Fund, the proceeds of the raffle (£260)
were donated to that charity.
