With sadness I announce the passing of my father Ray - nickname Nipper Henderson, in Chepstow on July 23rd 2023 after a long illness.
Many pupils and staff throughout the years no doubt frequented Henderson’s Newsagents in Monnow Street. As a family we had several branches around Chepstow and Forest of Dean. Ray was a keen boxer at school - small in stature but big in character. His wife Margaret will attest to him showing off some of his old moves during recent stints in hospital and the care home, although perhaps more wrestling than boxing!
As well as a local businessman, Ray was a real community man and gave freely of himself for a variety of causes. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
