We have received the sad news that Barbara Mathew passed away on Monday 6th February. As Barbara Lewis, she was Secretary to Headmaster Robert Glover in the mid 60s and met Philip Mathew when he joined the Common Room.
They married in 1969 and when Phil was made Housemaster of Weirhead, she took care of an extended family of boarders alongside her own children - OM Chris, born in 1970, and OG Nicola, who was born in 1974. Barbara also ran the School Shop and no doubt kitted out several generations of Monmouth schoolboys.
