New Year's Honour for OM...

Old Monmothian Warren East has been recognised in the King’s New Year Honours list with a knighthood for his outstanding contributions to the economy and commitment to achieving net-zero targets.

Awarded the title of Knight Bachelor, Warren’s career highlights include serving as CEO of ARM, a leading chip manufacturer, and Rolls-Royce plc, where he spearheaded transformative initiatives for sustainability and innovation.


Warren has also held positions on the boards of prominent engineering and technology companies such as BT, Dyson, and Micron. As CEO of Rolls-Royce from April 2015, he led efforts to modernise operations, expand capacity, and set the company’s course toward a net-zero future.


During his tenure, Rolls-Royce achieved groundbreaking milestones, including setting the world speed record for electric flight and pioneering hydrogen combustion in aero engines. Warren stepped down as CEO at the end of 2022.


Dedicated to advancing sustainability, Warren now supports smaller businesses in developing innovative technologies to meet net-zero goals.


In 2023, he was appointed Chair of carbon capture developer C-Capture and the UK’s National Air Traffic Service (NATS). In October 2024, he became President of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, further solidifying his reputation as a leader in engineering and sustainability.
